Template:Pipe

A literal pipe character. This is a sort of metatemplate akin to Template:Left brackets, which is used for building wikicode for links and suchlike, where the actual creation of the links is deferred to the calling document. If you have no idea what I'm talking about: do not use this template, as it will not do what you want.
