The aim of Software Carpentry is to teach researchers the fundamental skills that will help them be more productive while producing work of higher quality. During this two day workshops, students learn how to automate tasks using the Unix shell, how to track and share work using version control, and how to write software in Python that is readable, reusable, and reliable.

The course is part of the SNIC coordinated training in HPC. It is open to users and prospective users from all six SNIC HPC centres and academics throughout the Nordic region. Participants do not require previous knowledge in any of the tools presented during the workshop.
