Course overview

HPC2N is offering an introduction course in OpenMP and MPI. The purpose of this course is to give a short overview of the most important aspects of OpenMP, v. 2.5 and of MPI.

The first half of the day (9:00-12:00) will be focused on OpenMP and the second half of the day (13:00-16:30) on MPI.

There will be a short hands-on after each part of the course, where the participants get to compile and run a small OpenMP or MPI program. For this part you need an account at HPC2N (https://www.hpc2n.umu.se/documentation/access-and-accounts/users)

Pre-requisites

Basic knowledge of programming in C or Fortran.
